From Passion to Purpose

Witty Fox began in 2015 when three friends, each with years of backcountry experience, realized they shared more than a love for the outdoors. They saw how transformative time in nature could be—for stress relief, for personal growth, for building genuine connections.

What started as informal weekend trips with friends evolved into a structured program designed to make wilderness experiences accessible, safe, and profoundly meaningful. Today, we guide hundreds of adventurers each year through some of Canada's most breathtaking landscapes.

Our headquarters remain in Whistler, British Columbia, but our expeditions span from the rugged coasts of Nova Scotia to the alpine meadows of the Rockies.

Our Team

Every Witty Fox guide holds certifications in wilderness first response and technical outdoor skills. But credentials only tell part of the story.

Our team members are naturalists, photographers, storytellers, and lifelong students of the land. They have collectively logged thousands of nights under the stars and can identify birdsong as easily as they can teach you to build a proper campfire.

More importantly, they genuinely care about your experience. They will adjust the pace to match your group, share knowledge without lecturing, and create space for both adventure and reflection.

Our Commitment to the Land

We operate as guests in these wild spaces, and we take that responsibility seriously. Every Witty Fox expedition follows strict Leave No Trace protocols—packing out all waste, staying on established trails where they exist, and minimizing our impact on wildlife.

Beyond our trips, we contribute a portion of each booking to regional conservation organizations. In 2025, these contributions supported trail restoration in Garibaldi Provincial Park and wildlife corridor protection in the Kootenays.

We believe the best way to build advocates for wild places is to help people experience them firsthand. When you join us, you become part of a community that values and protects these landscapes for future generations.
